Deutsche Schule Jakarta

The German School Jakarta in BSD is one of Indonesia's finest international schools, opening up first-class university and career opportunities worldwide. It provides academic excellence from Early Childhood to High School in a multilingual, international environment with a vibrant, close-knit community, welcoming students of all nationalities and language backgrounds.

Founded in 1956, the German School Jakarta is one of the first international schools established in Indonesia. From humble beginnings as a small German learning group in Bandung, the school moved to Jakarta in 1967 and relocated to its current campus in BSD City, South Tangerang in 1998. In 2001 the school opened admission for Indonesian students, and in 2008 it officially became an Excellent German School Abroad. In 2017 the school was rebranded as Deutsche Schule Jakarta.

The German School Jakarta offers two integrated educational paths: the German-International Program, ideal for German-speaking children with German as the main language of instruction, and the International Program, designed for children who don't speak German, building a strong academic foundation in English and Indonesian while gradually introducing German. Both programs lead to the German International Abitur (DIA), a worldwide recognised high school diploma that provides direct access to universities in Germany without additional entrance exams.

As a non-profit organisation supported by the German Government, the school focuses its tuition directly on students' education, keeping fees competitive while maintaining top-tier faculty and outstanding facilities. The 42,000 square metre green campus in BSD offers modern classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, an auditorium, and extensive sport facilities including a swimming pool, football fields, and a sports hall.
