For over 30 years since its inception, SPH has been more than an ordinary school with an international curriculum in Indonesia—it is a second home where Christ is at the center, both in and out of the classroom, shaping students into future leaders of integrity and purpose. Established in 1993 with a bold vision, Sekolah Pelita Harapan (SPH) has grown into one of Indonesia's leading Christian international schools. Founded by the late Johannes Oentoro and Dr. (HC) James T. Riady, SPH was built on the belief that education should not only equip students with knowledge but also nurture their faith and character to bless the nation. As a pioneer in Christian education, SPH integrates the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Cambridge International programs.

The SPH network of schools spreads across five key locations in metropolitan Jakarta and its surrounding satellite cities, known as Jabodetabek: Lippo Village (1993), Sentul City (1994), Lippo Cikarang (1995), Kemang Village (2011), and Pluit Village (2014).

SPH is part of the Pelita Harapan Group (PHG), a foundation dedicated to transforming education in Indonesia. With over 60 schools across the country, PHG provides a Christ-centered holistic education for Indonesian and international families, and is committed to expanding educational access to underserved communities, including remote regions in Papua.
